Seaquest - Treasures of the Mind (1993) 5/10
This is next episode, Treasures of the Mind. In it the Seaquest is exploring the Mediterranean near Alexandria, Egypt, when they discover an annex of the Library at Alexandria. The explanation for the fact that there are books intact is that the building sunk so fast that an air pocket was kept inside the dome to the building.
Capt. Bridger is called upon to host a meeting of the nations of the world who have an interest in the artifacts inside the dome.
Seaquest High Command sends them three psychics to help them figure out what the representatives are thinking. Of course, one of them screws up and guesses wrong and ruins the progress made at the conference.
I won't tell you the ending, because it is a real cliffhanger (not really, it's predictable).
The problem here is that the psychics are where the writers went wrong. They tried to hard to give this show an X-files twist. The plot is no more corny than a Star Trek episode. Don't try so hard to be weird. Be weird naturally.
